The Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a nonprofit student organization based on career and technical education. FCCLA is the only student organization with family as its main focus. FCCLA was started 1945 as the Future Homemakers of America (FHA) and was later changed to the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America in 1999. The national headquarters of FCCLA is located in Virginia. FCCLA has more than 200,000 members from over 7,000 chapters across the country. FCCLA is an organization based on Family and Consumer Sciences Education. FCCLA teaches leadership, public speaking skills, and so much more! Students gain knowledge for the rest of their lives by performing projects, working as a team, and giving speeches. Members who apply for leadership positions in their chapter, region, state, or nation are given the chance to go through the interview process and gain tips on speaking, building a resume, and filling out an application. FCCLA gives you the resources to share "Your Story" with the world!
